My brother told me that he got an in-game letter the other day from one of the other officers in his guild. It went something like this:
Hey man. i've been working on a new video, come check it out!
www.imadouchebagkeylogger.com

the link in the letter wasn't so obvious, but you get the idea. The point is that they've moved to keylogging through ingame mail, so watch out.

The scammer Wow Insider reported on is just some guy. He uses the Spectral Tiger mount as a hook, claims to be selling it for 5000g in game. When he gets his mark, he emails them a link, they click on it, fill out their info, and he steals their account. He doesn't use a keylogger, just an online form. He claims he has stolen 70,000 gold and sells it to a RMT gold seller for $5 per 1000g.

Don't give your account info to anyone. Ever.
